Session summary

Already more than a year ago the Kindred were invited in the ‘Vismijn’ of Ostend. A time in which Clan Nosferatu proved it to be a place of calm atmosphere and serenity. Now the invitation was quite different compared to the shabby surroundings in which the Ventrue named Ted Dawson seized praxis over the Domain of Ostend. The host of the evening was also the Keeper of Elysium, a perfect combination as ever for the Neonate Ventrue named Jean Vermoote. Clearly attending to the wishes of her excellency Prince Angélique BelleFleure he made a statement pointing out Etiquette can be held high under any conditions.

Guests were guided and seperated according to status. Everyone was greeted by the two Neonate Harpies present; the Malkavian Mélanie Verbert and the Brujah Jef Vandermeersch. After making acquaintance with them and in case they met an Ancilla they were escorted by Jennifer de Crystallin, Toreador Ancilla to more private comfortable quarters.

Once everyone had arrived the Harpies present informed the Neonate guests of what was expected of them. Etiquette according to Toreador standards was an enlightenment for most Neonates present but once the first Ancilla was introduced by one of Jean Vermoote’s personnel everyone acted accordingly. Every Ancilla was greeted by a bow with exception of the Elder Franciscus Mercurius van Helmont, and the two Princes present that evening, who were kneeled before.

One introduction did certainly not go unnoticed. That of the Ancilla formerly known as Ted Dawson. After his public demise as a Ventrue who was declared Caitiff he was now formally introduced to all present as the Neonate Caitiff Joseph Weil. The eyebrows gave away the shock he went through at the moment, but he strolled on with his chin up ignoring the statement. Later that night he even exchanged some boons to collect some support concerning the doubts of his former Ancilla status. Unfortunately no changes of status were announced that night.

Before any conversations could commence, Jean Vermoote treated everyone to a tour of his fishing plant. Strolling along the docks where fishing barges normally are unloaded the guests were overwhelmed with trivial data worth impressing any clientèle. Passing along trucks, enormous refrigerators, and more material used to unload the slimy smelly cargo. Anyone with a knack for business was immediately aware of the Neonate Ventrue his industrial capabilities.

Since the invitation to the Elysium attracted a lot of new faces to Ostend several figures were noticed more than others. The Ostend Brujah welcomed Lionel Tanner on their turf as a Neonate coming over from England. Clan Toreador welcomed the Neonate Clément Thery, who the Ancilla Viktor Goebs took under his care to ensure his standing regardless of the already infamous sire named Drago Rosethorne. The Ventrue Keeper of Elysium was quite pleased with the company of Anne Sophie De Beukelaer who quite obviously also investing in the food related business as a Neonate of the Clan. Clan Tremere welcomed the most visitors with two Neonates named Ambrosia d’Alcina and Ariadne de Ceres accompanied by their Elder Franciscus Mercurius van Helmont who made a low profile impression that evening. Jef Delaforêt, an Ancilla Gangrel was also present.

This time Radek Novak was also visiting the Domain of Ostend, but this time more prominently as Prince of Bruges. He even introduced his sire Andreas Saelens, also Ancilla to the Clan of the Hidden. Also introducing himself as Ogard, Neonate Nosferatu was an individual dressed in a red scarf and western hat. The same person would leave the Elysium escorted by that designated clan later that evening, but known as Drago Rosethorne at that time. Seemingly incognito the overzealous Toreador had been fooling Kindred present. But at one time that evening when Drago Rosethorne presented himself to his Ancillae and was scolded for by her Majesty Prince Angélique BelleFleure of Ostend one could easily assume the clothes worn by Ogard and Drago were very much the same.

Around the same time another Elder entered the Elysium known as the Brujah Sefra, who was also formally introduced by the Harpies as Elder and Primogen of Flanders making several Kindred present frown upon such a title. Since then one had only heard of Clan Delegates or Clan Heads and now this Primogen indulged himself this seemingly Domain sharing position of advisor. Nevertheless, conversations and formalities were exchanged with both Princes present that night.

Once the nightshift would light and life up the factory the Keeper moved the Kindred to more suitable quarters inside of the fishing plant. Away from the noisy refrigerators and the smelly cargo Jean Vermoote grasped the attention of all guests for one last time. Expressing his gratitude the Ventrue Neonate had Gifts at hand for every Ancilla and Elder present. The gift was a symbolized reminder of this very Elysium. A glass jar with an expensive breed of Koi Karper swimming lively in the bowl. One slight difference could be perceived in the bowl handed over to her Majesty the Prince Angélique BelleFleure and the Head Harpy Jennifer de Crystallin, both Toreador Ancillae, and rumoured to share beds or coffins on a regular basis. Besides the amount of Karpers Jean clarified the two rings on the bottom were crafted with bloodcoral in the shape of a rose.

At that time Alexei Kiriloff entered the premises clearly rising tension amongst the guests with every minute he spent in the proximity of the Gangrel Ancilla Willem Van Heyne. Sensing this change in the atmosphere and after an inquiry by the Brujah Elder Sefra, her Majesty the Prince of Ostend made the official statement concerning her former Sheriff’s final death. Yuri Danivyslov, Brujah Ancilla and Sheriff of Ostend had died by the treacherous actions of the Anarch Ventrue Pjetrov Kravets. Yuri had died through the claws of the unfortunately manipulated Gangrel Willem. Willem would repay his debt to the Camarilla in serving the Domain of Ostend as Scourge for one century to come. With a little advise from Sefra, Clan Brujah could welcome the Neonate Alexei Kiriloff as the new Sheriff of Ostend.

After these declarations the newly appointed Gangrel Scourge was called to the Elder Sefra in reviewing the crime committed towards Clan Brujah. Within seven nights all Ostend Brujah would come together and challenge Willem into the Gauntlet. Seemingly a way of punishment in the Clan. The Prince invited herself as well on the event and her presence would be accepted. The Ancilla Gangrel also accepted in a way to overcome all problems caused with the slaying of his former best comrade Yuri Danivyslov.

As expected, Clan Nosferatu, with most members present nevertheless seemed to be absent at regular intervals. Besides any formal pleasantries the night ended quite calmly as it had begun with Kindred leaving one by one…
