Session summary

The Casino of Ostend was the place to be. It was a cold night and the streets in Ostend looked deserted, except for the front of the casino where people were gathering to see the latest show. Among the crowd a lot of celebrities could be spotted. At the side entrance of that same Casino, a whole different breed of celebrities were entering the building. Upon entering, the Kindred were kindly asked by two handsome and intelligent looking security Ghouls to present their invitations.

When finally entering the large and beautifully decorated private gambling hall, every Kindred was properly and seperately announced by the host’s ghoul. Jean Vermoote, honored Keeper of Elysium had invited Kindred from as far as Kortrijk to this Elysium, for there was a special guest coming this evening and the proud Keeper made sure that all would be here when this mysterious outsider arrived. Little did he suspect that in the neighbouring Domain of Bruges, deep under the city, rebellious Kindred were planning and plotting to break away from his beloved Camarilla.

Amongst the gathering crowd, some new faces could be seen. Two Brujah Neonates had chosen the lavish party to come out of the shadows and into the Kindred society. Their names were Ronny Van den Eede and Bart Boucké. Also, a Tremere Neonate found his way to the Casino. His name was Stijn Descamps.

Finally, Jean Vermoote's mystery guest arrived. After being announced by the Ghoul as Achiel Soete, inquisitor of Clan Ventrue, the present Kindred society understood what this gathering was all about. This Inquisitor was looking into the distressful dethroning of the former Prince of Ostend Ted Dawson, now known by his supposed real name of Joseph Weil. The Kindred society of West Flanders was addressed by the Keeper himself. He asked every Kindred present to give the Ventrue inquisitor full cooperation in his investigation. After this announcement, Achiel Soete started his questioning and asked every Kindred present about Ted Dawson and his deeds and mishaps, the why and how he was dethroned and other relevant questions.

The Giovanni ambassador had brought two ghouls with him for the occasion, but soon concluded that this had been a bad idea. The ghouls formed a comical duo that worked on the nerves of many a Kindred present. Especially the Harpies were not keen on the constant chattering and bickering ghouls who did not once stop to realize the damage that was being done to their master's reputation. After hearing the umpteenth complaint about Pedro and Angelo, the embarassed Alessandro decided to separate them from the other guests.

The gambling room was filled with gossip about the inquisitor and the rumors from the so called rebels of Bruges when all of a sudden, Edward Haecks, Ancilla of clan Nosferatu, called out Anne Sophie de Beukelaere's name. He handed her a bucket and a mop for her, in the eyes of many, disrespectfully changing of her title to “Keepster of Elysium “ and in doing so butchering an ancient title that had been used by the greatest of Kindred society. The little pun of the Nosferatu was accepted by the Keepster of Elysium of Bruges, albeit hesitantly and shocked.

Another disruption of the gathering happened when an unknown person, covered in blood, was dragged into the Elysium. The fledgeling had been left all by itself and was discovered in a bunker in Ostend. The unconscious boy was dragged off to the private meeting room of the Prince and Seneshal to find out more about where he came from. Soon, whispers filled the room that he might be linked to the Malkavian killings that had been going on for some time. Not much later, another uninvited guest showed up. The Nosferatu Neonate Dundee, one of the rumoured rebels from Bruges entered Elysium, not realising that the Court of Ostend was waiting for him to have a little talk about his recent activities.

After a few hours, Achiel Soete got all the information he needed, except from the Prince and the Seneshal of the Domain who had been meeting in private for most of the evening. When they finally graced the guests with their presence, the unknown Kindred from before was carried outside with them. His name was Olivier Daens and would come under the care of Eldwin Falckeauge for the time being.

Dundee was also brought into the main hall and was being accused of breaching the Elysium. Since the Nosferatu was from Bruges, Prince Angelique BelleFleure left the sentencing over to the Nosferatu Prince of the Domain of Bruges. He was swift and strong in his word to kill every anarch on his Domain and ripped the head of the shoulders of his Clanmember.

Not much later, Jean Vermoote concluded their gettogether and announced that in light of things happening in the Ventrue Clan, he would step aside as Keeper of Elysium. It has also been decided by the Court that he was to be replaced by Allesandro Giovanni. After this unexpected announcement, the Kindred started leaving the Casino, still pondering about all the things that had transpired that evening.
